Browns general manager Andrew Berry thinks head coach Kevin Stefanski is funny.
And not just funny in the kind of way that mutual work acquaintances consider each other slightly more than tolerable, but actually,
endearingly funny; funny like when your friend says something that still makes you laugh a few days later.
An example: Last week on a Zoom call Stefanski was sitting in his basement, forced to quarantine both from his team and his family due to a positive COVID-19 diagnosis that would prevent him from coaching that against the Steelers in the opening round of the playoffs. During a lull in the conversation, Stefanski looked up and said out of nowhere in a perfect deadpan:

CLEVELAND, Ohio Baker Mayfield beat Patrick Mahomes twice in college, but hopes to even his NFL record against him to 1-1 on Sunday in the divisional round of the playoffs in Kansas City.
“He’s gotten me so far in the league so I have to see what I can do,’ Mayfield said.
Mayfield was referring to the Chiefs’ 37-21 victory over the Browns on Nov. 4, 2018, in Freddie Kitchens’ first game as the play caller after Hue Jackson and Todd Haley were fired.

Doug Pederson is officially out as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, ending a five-year run that peaked with a victory in Super Bowl LII and ended with a disastrous 4-11-1 record in 2020. His tenure was capped by the humiliation of an overt tank-job in his final game.
Owner Jeffrey Lurie reportedly met with Pederson for a second time Monday in Florida to discuss the coach s future. It appears they both walked away unable to work together, with reports suggesting Pederson was tired of being ordered around by the front office.

This was the moment I truly fell in love with Doug Pederson.
It happened the week after the Eagles beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52. NFL Films released one of their always-excellent “Turning Point” videos in which they chronicled the Birds’ historic win, and there was a scene that crystallized why Pederson beat the greatest head coach in football history, Bill Belichick, on the game’s biggest stage (start at 0:38 mark).
It was a simple moment between two head coaches. Belichick came up to Pederson and shook his hand. Belichick mentioned that he “tried to find a game this season where you behind and couldn’t find one!” Pederson responds, “There were plenty!” (There weren’t). Then Doug just spitballs and talks to Belichick like they’re old war buddies. He talked about how long Super Bowl week was and how desperate he was to just play the game.
