McGoldrick Up for Award Wednesday, 9th Jan 2013 13:39 New Town striker David McGoldrick has been nominated for the League One Player of the Month award for December having scored five goals in four matches for his former loan club Coventry City. Tommy Elphick from Bournemouth and Crewe’s Luke Murphy are the 25-year-old’s fellow nominees. McGoldrick has joined the Blues on loan from Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the season with the move set to be made permanent in the summer. Town boss Mick McCarthy could be amongst the nominees for the Championship Manager of the Month for December when they are announced tomorrow, having led the Blues to four wins - three of them away from home - one draw and one defeat during the final month of 2012.

Morgan’s team won all three matches in December against London Bees, Charlton Athletic and Blackburn Rovers to end the calendar year at the top of The FA Women’s Championship. Upon receiving his second Manager of the Month trophy of the season Morgan said: “It has been a fantastic start to the new year for the club, firstly with the move into our new Belvoir Drive training ground, followed by Natasha Flint picking up The FA Women’s Championship Player of the Month award.
