This is NOT how I wanted to start the weekend. News broke that after 12 seasons, some great plot twists, and lots of really really beautiful shirtless scenes, Jesse Williams is leaving the show. Williams has been playing Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital s Dr. Jackson Avery Jackson for over a decade and will appear in his final episode titled Tradition, on May 20, ABC announced Thursday.
I have to tell you the truth, a part of me saw this coming. Jackson has been unhappy and unsatisfied for a while. It didn t seem like a new love interest would do it, and having him take on a bigger role in the hospital giving back to the community (which was what he was most stressed about in last few shows) just wasn t going to do enough for the show itself.
