Upon the banks of the Murray in the quaint township of Tocumwal on the New South Wales side of the border, the team behind the beloved Strawberry Fields festival lay plans for their latest community celebration, Good Times. “We have a deep relationship with folklore through Strawberry Fields and wanted to start more events there for a really long time and we were on the brink of announcing one prior to COVID and this is that brand,” explains festival director Tara Benney.

The delays have meant that the new shows for James will come after the 40th anniversary of the second Crawl album ‘Sirroco’, released in July 1981.

Mackay venue shares in $2 5m of live music grants

Premium Content Subscriber only A Mackay region hotel has scored a share in $2.5m of grants to reactive live music across Australian pubs, clubs and theatres. HFG Hotels received $41,154 in round two of the $20m Live Music Australia Program towards its Seabreeze Hotel at 72 Pacific Esplanade, Slade Point. The grant was one of 83 awarded across the nation to support live music programming at more than 100 venues. A statement from Cities and the Arts Minister Paul Fletcher said it would develop the hotel into an “independent, original band venue supporting local artists and national touring acts”. Seabreeze Hotel, opposite Lamberts Beach, has a dedicated outdoor stage for live music. Picture: File
