Texas Angler Reels in Second Toyota ShareLunker Legacy Class Largemouth Bass of 2021
A bass fisherman in Texas recently landed an impressive largemouth bass that could potentially play a vital role in boosting fishing opportunities around the Lone Star State.
CJ Oates is the angler who hooked into the enormous fish, when he was fishing out on Lake Austin late last week. Oates said he was casting near some docks around nighttime when he first felt a slight “tick” on his line. With a bit of uncertainty, Oates lifted his rod, and was greeted with a violent head shake on the other end.
Recent 13-pounder on Sam Rayburn could be start of awesome 2021.
In a year when the bass-fishing world will turn its eyes upon Texas with two championship level events, Travis Moore got the big largemouth party started on Jan. 9 when he caught the first ShareLunker bass of 2021. The 13.44-pound fish was caught at Sam Rayburn Reservoir during a Bass Champs tournament and continues the resurgence of the big East Texas reservoir in recent years.
