An NBA season that began under the threat of COVID-19 appears to be ending the same way. In addition to Thanasis Antetokounmpo, who has been ruled out of Saturday night’s Game 5 after being placed in health and safety protocols, the Bucks will be without assistant coach Josh Oppenheimer, tweets Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. This will be the third straight game that Oppenheimer has been forced to miss, Wojnarowski adds (Twitter link), but there’s hope he might be back for Game 6 (Twitter link).
The virus has also affected Saturday night s officiating crew, as the league announced (via Twitter) that referee Sean Wright has been placed in health and safety protocols. James Williams will take his place.

Officiating during Game 4 of the 2021 NBA Finals between the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin Wednesday evening was absolutely abhorrent.
To put it kindly, the zebras on hand at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee decided that they should have been the talk of the sports world rather than the stars vying for the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
All of this came to a culmination in the fourth quarter with the Suns riding a narrow lead in hopes of taking a 3-1 lead against Milwaukee in the NBA Finals.
Having just recently entered the game after recording his fifth foul earlier in the fourth quarter, Devin Booker obviously fouled Bucks guard Jrue Holiday on a fast break. It was about as ridiculous of a non-call that we’ve ever seen around the Association.

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo just tallied his second straight 40-point game, which puts him halfway from breaking a Michael Jordan record in the NBA Finals. However, before comparisons start coming in, the Greek Freak wants to clarify one thing: he’s nowhere near MJ.
Jordan holds the record for most consecutive 40-point games in the NBA Finals with four, which he accomplished in 1993 against the Phoenix Suns as well. In Game 3 against Chris Paul and the Arizona-based team, Giannis scored 41 points to follow-up from his 42-point explosion in Game 2.
Michael Jordan has the record with four straight 40-point games in the NBA Finals – also against the Suns in 1993. Giannis is now halfway there.
