Holbeach misses out on millions
| Updated: 16:42, 01 January 2021
Holbeach has been dealt a blow after missing out on millions of pounds of Government cash to support the high street.
Businesses and councillors are disappointed after the townâs bid for between £4million and £7million for the Futures High Street Fund was not approved â but Holbeach still has great prospects ahead thanks to the Food Enterprise Zone.
The bid hoped to redevelop a 1.3-acre piece of land behind The Chequers Hotel in High Street along with creating a cycle lane, and making it easier for pedestrian to cross Market Hill but sadly these plans did not attract the funding, with the winners announced on Boxing Day, which included March in Fenland.
