All-region outdoor track selections revealed for Central

The Central College men’s and women’s track and field squads had six members earn All-Central Region outdoors for the outdoor season from the USTFCCCA. To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region or be part of a top-3 relay team. Brock Lewis led the way with a pair of all-region performances in the triple jump and long jump. Sam Beatty achieved the feat in the high jump and Caleb Silver accomplished it in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Kiki Pingel also had two events in which she was all-region, earning the honors in the heptathlon and 100-meter hurdles. Mary Gray also was an all-region performer in the heptathlon as Gillian Streit was recognized for his discus throwing.

Beatty named league s men s field events performer of the week | KNIA KRLS Radio

A new career-best high jump earned Central College men’s track and field team sophomore Sam Beatty the American Rivers Conference Men’s Field Events Performer of the Week recognition. In a home triangular Friday against Simpson College and Nebraska Wesleyan University, Beatty won the high jump by clearing six feet, 9 inches. His mark was good for No. 7 in NCAA Division III this season and No. 7 all-time at Central. It is the first Outdoor Field Events Performer of the Week honors for Beatty. Central’s Brock Lewis had already won two of the previous four weeks. Central is competing at the Dr. Tucker Invitational hosted by Loras College on Friday. Field events start at noon and track events begin at 2 p.m.
