Dean Thompson is falling for Amber all over again now that she is back in the Bay. Will they give their past relationship another go on Home and Away?
Dean Thompson (played by Patrick O’Connor) and his ex Amber Simmons (Maddy Jevic) are finally back in a good place on Home and Away (1:15pm/6:00pm on Channel 5, see our TV Guide for full listings)
It was a bit touch-and-go there for a while, after Amber did a runner with their young son, Jai (River Jarvis).
But as Dean and Amber reminisce about old times, it seems to bring them closer.
“I’ve been there a few times over the years,” she says. “Originally, I went as a teenager because I’m a big Tolkien fan and I wanted to visit what I thought was Middle Earth, or Peter Jackson’s Middle Earth. “Then I started to see New Zealand and not Middle Earth and I fell in love with it because it’s a little powerful nation. I find New Zealand historically magnificent, culturally magnificent and, currently, very politically enviable.” Her character, Mia, arrives in the bay in pursuit of her runaway teenage daughter Chloe (Sam Barrett) who was looking for Ari, the only father she had ever known.

1. Mac makes a big decision Endemol ShineChannel 5
Mac is still torn over whether to tell Ari that she s expecting his baby following their split. Dean is disappointed that his sister is leaning towards keeping quiet, but Mac explains that she s considering a termination and Ari never needs to know.
Just when it seems like Mac has made her decision, Ari makes a heartfelt apology for the way he treated her. Mac is moved and later tells Dean that she has decided to let Ari know about the baby after all. Sadly, before Mac gets a chance to do so, tragedy strikes.
