Peterhansel Sets Another Record with 14th Dakar Rally Victory

Stephane Peterhansel, the biggest winner in Dakar Rally history, wrapped up his 14th Dakar Rally and set yet another record in Saudi Arabia.
Peterhansel, 55, who has six wins on bikes and eight in cars, won this year s event in Saudi Arabia by a margin of just under 14 minutes, along with co-driver Edouard Boulanger.

champion Daniel ‘Chucky’ Sanders has completed his
rookie Dakar Rally campaign, bringing home his factory Red
Bull KTM machine in an incredible fourth place.
The
crown jewel of off-road racing began and finished in Jeddah
for the 2021 event. Traversing over 15,000km of Saudi
Arabian terrain, a multitude of different landscapes were
encountered ranging from deep canyons to endless desert sand
dunes, with riders reading their navigation systems while

JEDDAH: France’s Stephane Peterhansel on Friday won the Dakar Rally for the 14th time, 30 years after his initial success in the most gruelling event on motorsport’s calendar.
Peterhansel, nicknamed ‘Mr Dakar’, has now won the car category eight times, having also won the motorbike category six times.
The 55-year-old Mini driver, aided by co-pilot Edouard Boulanger, finished 14min 51sec ahead of Qatari Nasser al-Attiyah (Toyota), with Spain’s Carlos Sainz winner of Friday’s 12th and final stage from Yanbu to Jeddah rounding out the podium in another Mini.
