An investigation has been launched into a fatal mass shooting at a Californian railyard on Wednesday.
Nine Valley Transportation Authority workers have been confirmed dead after a shooting carried out by co-worker Sam Cassidy, who also died at the scene.
Authorities reported Cassidy was holding two guns and fired at least 39 times during the attack.
They also found potential bomb-making materials in his work locker.

Investigators released new details about the gunman who killed 10 people including himself at a railyard in San Jose, California.
In 2016, Sam Cassidy was detained by border officials after they found books in his possession about terrorism, fear and manifestos.
Border officials also found notes where he detailed his hatred for working at the railyard.
In documents from a 2009 legal filing by Cassidy’s ex-girlfriend, she said he “exhibited major mood swings as a result of bipolar disorder.”
At the scene of the shooting, detectives found three semi-automatic handguns and nearly three dozen high-capacity magazines loaded with more ammunition.

On Friday, investigators, crime specialists and a bomb squad team were out in force at VTA gunman Sam Cassidy's home on Angmar Court. Police also revealed that Cassidy was a hoarder.
