Lockheed Martin awarded contract modification for RoCAF s F-16 upgrade programme

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a not-to-exceed USD138 million contract modification for Taiwan’s ‘Peace Phoenix Rising’ programme, which is aimed at upgrading the Republic of China Air Force’s (RoCAF’s) fleet of F-16A/B Fighting Falcon multirole fighter aircraft to the latest F-16V Block 70/72 configuration.
The US Department of Defense announced on 26 April that the modification is for “the development and fielding of capabilities for the Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System [Auto GCAS] and AGM-88 High-speed Anti-radiation Missile [HARM], improvements in radar software maturity, an update to the data acquisition system, and advanced identification friend-or-foe” systems, adding that work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas, and Taiwan, and is expected to be completed by 30 September 2022.

It sits on the High Street and looks so beautiful with its hanging plants, blooming flowers and little succulents. However, it s been closed during the lockdown so I ve had to be patient.
But, on a walk along the prom with a friend during the week, I went up to see if this beautiful shop, called The ‘Wild’ Flower Shop, was open, and it was. Skipping for joy, I started to visualise where the plants I was hoping to purchase would go in my home.

The Presidential Office yesterday welcomed a joint statement by the US and Japan that underscores their commitment to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
The statement, issued by the White House after a meeting between US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, highlighted the countries’ deepening partnership on defense including of cyber and space defense as well as on key technologies, healthcare and the climate.
