Duluth Denfeld’s Kade Shea Selected by Anchorage Wolverines in 2021 NAHL Entry Draft
The former Hunters captain finished his senior campaign this past season leading the team in goals and tied for the lead in total points.

DULUTH, Minn. – This week, Duluth Denfeld hockey alum Kade Shea was selected by the Anchorage Wolverines in the 2021 NAHL Entry Draft. Shea says when the pick happened, he received multiple texts from family and friends, as well as his coaches who helped him tremendously through the draft preparation process.
“They made phone calls trying to advocate for us. They’ve set up these skates and workouts in the summer, an amazing summer program. It kind of just develops you and helps you tune in and really like become the hockey player you want to be,” said Shea.

Dylan Sumner finished with two goals to help send the Bluegreens to the postseason.

DULUTH, Minn. – Dylan Sumner would score twice in the first half as Duluth FC defeated Sioux Falls FC 5-2 Friday night at Public Schools Stadium.
Martin Grzywa, Sidney Warden and James Westfield also scored for the Bluegreens, who have clinched their spot in the NPSL playoffs which begin next Tuesday.
Grandma’s Winner Rotich, UMD’s Nielsen Winners at 50th Annual Park Point 5-Miler
The top men s finisher was 2021 Grandma s Marathon winner Milton Rotich of Kenya with a time of 25:20.

DULUTH, Minn. – Northern Minnesota’s oldest race celebrated five decades of running Thursday night as Park Point hosted its 50th annual 5-miler run and two-mile walk. Over 500 runners took part in the race with another 200 running virtually.
The top men’s finisher was 2021 Grandma’s Marathon winner Milton Rotich of Kenya with a time of 25:20. He becomes the first person ever to win Grandma’s and the Five-Miler in the same year. Former men’s winners Scott Behling and Nick Nygaard also finished in the top 10.

Proctor Native Jake Malec Signs with Great Falls Voyagers
He joins fellow Bison teammate and Esko native Nick Emanuel, who also signed with the Voyagers last month.

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Proctor native Jake Malec has signed a minor league deal with the Great Falls Voyagers of the Pioneer Baseball League.
The North Dakota State alum just wrapped up his college career being named the Summit League Tournament MVP. He joins fellow Bison teammate and Esko native Nick Emanuel, who also signed with the Voyagers last month. Malec finished the season leading the conference in runs and second in hits.
