Rescue operation continue at damaged Tapovan hydel project tunnel, following Sunday s glacier burst at Joshimath causing a massive flood in the Dhauli Ganga river, in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand
Three bodies were recovered on Sunday from the Tapovan tunnel following a seven-day operation to rescue around 30 people trapped in it after a flashflood-hit Joshimath area of Chamoli district, senior officials said.
These are the first bodies to have been recovered from the tunnel where people were at work when the calamity occurred last Sunday.The recoveries take the toll in the disaster to 41.  A massive search and rescue operation has been underway in the tunnel at Tapovan-Vishnugad hydel project site.
Rescue teams are yet to free 30 people trapped in Uttarakhand’s Tapovan tunnel. The have been trapped there since February 7 when flash-floods wreaked havoc in the area

An FIR has been registered against the Google CEO Sundar Pichai and 17 others in Varanasi for a demeaning video on YouTube against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Bhelupur SHO Amit Mishra said that the FIR has been registered by one Girija Shanker at the Police Station on the court order against 18 accused, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, under Section 60 of the IT Act and 500, 504, 506 and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
A resident of Gauriganj in Varanasi, Girija Shanker stated in the FIR that he had received a video on his Whatsapp in which a man named Vishal Singh alias Vishal Ghazipur and his wife Sapna Bodh were were singing a song using unparliamentary and foul language to demean Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], February 12 (ANI): The death toll in the Uttarakhand glacier burst incident reached 37 after one more body was recovered from the riverbank near Maithana village on Friday, informed Chamoli District Magistrate (DM) Swati S Bhadoria.
Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand Director-General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar told ANI that the rescue team will resume the drilling operation in the Tapovan tunnel to gain entry into a smaller tunnel which is 12 meters below the existing tunnel as there is a possibility of human presence there.
The operation was temporarily halted following a rise in the level of water in the Rishiganga River yesterday.
