Mahama asks Supreme Court to annul declaration of Akufo -Addo as President-elect

705 The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Former President John Dramani Mahama, has filed a petition at the Supreme Court seeking the annulment of the declaration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the President-elect by the Electoral Commission. The petition which has been sighted by Graphic Online is also seeking an order of injunction restraining President Akufo-Addo from holding himself as the President-elect. Former President Mahama is also asking the apex court to order the EC to conduct a second election with only him and President Akufo-Addo as the candidates. Mr Sammy Gyamfi (2left), National Communication Officer of the NDC and Mr Edudzie Tamakloe, one of the counsels for the petitioners, arrived at the Supreme Court at about 12:13pm to file the process. I m Humbled Majority Of Ghanaians Renewed My Mandate - Akufo-Addo | Politics

  President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that he has been humbled by the renewal of his mandate to continue his second and final term as President by the decisive majority of Ghanaians. He said the renewal of his mandate places a grave responsibility on him, adding that in such occasions the best that one could say and do was to give off their best guided by the almighty God and the teachings of holy scripture as a Christian. President Akufo-Addo made this statement when the Chairman and members of the Seventh Council of State of the Republic presented their third and final report to him at the Jubilee House in Accra today (December 30, 2020).
