An assistant principal at a California high school is accused of repeatedly molesting a young girl for two years.
Oak Hills High School Assistant Principal Matthew Lin Johnson, 42, was arrested last week and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a minor, including lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff s Office. The alleged victim, now 10, told police Johnson had repeatedly molested her for two years when she was seven and eight years old.
Barstow man struck by vehicle, killed on Yermo Road

A 58-year-old Barstow man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle on Yermo Road on Monday night, authorities said.
The man’s identity has not been released by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner office as of Tuesday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the collision on Yermo Road, north of Fort Irwin Road at approximately 6 p.m. Monday.
CHP officials said the man was standing in the northbound lane of Yermo Road and was struck by a 2005 Toyota. For reasons still under investigation, the driver of the Toyota, was unable to observe the pedestrian in the roadway and subsequently struck him, CHP officials said in a statement.
A man died after being accidentally shot while he was driving a vehicle in Fontana on Dec. 15, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner s Division and the Fontana Police Department.
At 7:17 p.m., officers and emergency medical personnel responded to Mango Avenue and Foothill Boulevard to investigate the report of a two-vehicle traffic collision.
When they arrived, they found Samuel Medina Campos, a 28-year-old resident of Fontana, with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 7:51 p.m.
Police determined that a passenger in the rear of the vehicle, Rodolfo Medina, 28, was handling a firearm and accidentally fired it, striking the victim. The firearm was recovered and Medina was arrested, police said.

In July 2019, Barbara Thomas, 69, was hiking with her husband, Robert, in the desert about 20 miles north of the I-40 freeway east of Kelbaker Road. During the hike, Barbara and Robert allegedly got separated.
According to Supervisor Jeff Lewison of the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner s Division, her body was located on November 27 of this year in the desert near Essex, California.
An autopsy has been completed, Lewison confirmed, but the cause of death is still pending.
Barbara was last seen wearing a black bikini, a red baseball cap and tan hiking boots with black socks. She had no supplies with her.
