DFAextends application for foreign service exam

CALASIAO, Pangasinan, May 24 (PIA) - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has extended the deadline of application for the 2021 Foreign Service Officer examinations.
Anna Bautista, information officer designate of the DFA Consular Office in Calasiao, said the DFA-Board of Foreign Service Examinations is still accepting applicants for said position as application was extended to June 10, 2021. The qualifying test is scheduled on August 22, 2021 and for Ilocos Region, the testing center will be in San Fernando City, La Union, Bautista told the Philippine Information Agency.
Passers of the FSO examination will be appointed as Foreign Service Officers, Class IV, who must be willing and able to accept foreign or domestic assignments that the Department will require of them, she added.

Convicted cult leader and former San Jose, Dinagat Islands Rep. Ruben B. Ecleo Jr. passed away at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City on Thursday, May 13, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.
“He died of cardio pulmonary arrest at 12:20 pm today,” said BuCor Deputy Director General Gabriel P. Chaclag.
“Other medical conditions include obstructive jaundice and chronic kidney disease secondary to obstructive uropathy,” Chaclag said.
He also said that Ecleo got infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) but had “recovered over a week ago.”
Ecleo had been confined for three days at the Dr. Sabili General Hospital last month. Chaclag said it was due to liver problems and other complications.
