CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) â The Port of San Diego and the City of Chula Vista held a ribbon-cutting Tuesday morning on the Chula Vista Bayfront for two completed projects as part of the city s master plan.
Tuesday, the first major projects in the Chula Vista master plan opened to the public: The Chula Vista RV Resort Park and Sweetwater Bike Path.
The luxury RV resort, meanwhile, boasts nearly 200 full hook-up RV sites and almost 50 tiny house rentals at the posh location. With a community pool, splash pads, indoor and outdoor fitness centers, free WiFi and more, the new resort makes for a great spot for staycation.
The completion of the new RV luxury resort allows for the master plan’s next project – the upcoming Gaylord Pacific Resort and Convention Center, which will be located on the site of Chula Vista’s old RV park. It’s slated to include 1,600 hotel rooms, a convention center with four ballrooms and public amenities like retail space.

The incident unfolded around 10:30 a.m. local time near the Cabrillo National Monument at the tip of Point Loma, a coastal community near downtown San Diego. Both Customs and Border Protection and the Navy have vessels based near that neighborhood.
The overloaded boat crashed into the shoreline of the peninsula and then flipped upside down. A report from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department stated that first responders were on the scene roughly 10 minutes after a call came in about a boat carrying more than 20 people overturning.
