SAN DIEGO (KGTV) A 35-year-old San Diego man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of killing his girlfriend, police said.
Police were called to investigate a missing person incident when 48-year-old Faviola Calderon did not show up for work. Early on in the investigation, detectives determined Calderon was reported missing under suspicious circumstances.
Detectives learned that Calderon was in a relationship with 35-year-old Nery Garcia of San Diego. As the investigation progressed, police named Garcia as the suspect.

A 35-year-old man was behind bars Friday accused of killing his girlfriend, who was reported missing a day earlier after not showing up for work, San Diego police said.
Details of the case provided by police Friday were vague, but detectives arrested Nery Roberto Garcia on suspicion of killing 48-year-old San Diego resident Faviola Calderon, according to San Diego police acting homicide Lt. Joel Tien.
Calderon was reported missing Thursday after not showing up for work, and Tien said the circumstances of her disappearance were immediately suspicious enough to involved homicide investigators, though he declined to provide more details.
