(KGTV) A north county teenager is doing what he can to preserve the native plants along the bluffs in Del Mar.
Tyden Chinowsky loves to surf at Torrey Pines. He walks the coast highway to get to the beach from his home in Del Mar. About a year ago, he noticed what he describes as a neglected area near Anderson Canyon. I would always just notice as we were walking empty land with just weeds and nothing else, I felt it was wasted land in such a beautiful spot, said Tyden.

Judge grants restraining order to North County parents, overturning pandemic-related school rules

(KGTV) A judge granted a temporary restraining order in favor of a group of North County parents who sued the state in an effort to overturn pandemic-related rules they say prevent school districts from reopening.
Judge Cynthia Freeland said that the state s framework for reopening K-12 schools âis selective in its applicability, vague in its terms, and arbitrary in its prescriptions.â
âWith the mental health effects resulting from (or being exacerbated by) remote learning, one can conclude that disparate treatment being experienced by children affected by the January 2021 Framework is depriving those same children of a fundamental benefit of education, namely provision of the necessary tools to help children adjust normally to their environment,â court documents stated.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) The Petco Park Vaccination Super Station will close permanently Saturday, March 20, UC San Diego Health said Monday.
The facility houses San Diego Countyâs largest vaccine distribution location.
Currently, Petco Park offers Modernaâs coronavirus vaccine, which requires two doses to be fully effective.
Anyone who received their first vaccine dose at the station is advised to make sure their second appointment is scheduled for this week. UC San Diego Health said they will fit try to everyone in at Petco, or at one of their other sites, including a Super Station at the University s La Jolla campus, at RIMAC Arena, as well as their mobile clinics. To do so, they ask patients to click here into their MyChart account to check.
