SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose firefighters say pepper spray could have been what caused several customers inside a Safeway store to begin coughing Thursday evening.
Crews responded to the store, located at 179 Branham Lane, at 7:16 p.m. and found around 50 people inside at the time.
Three of those people were evaluated by medics as the remainder were evacuated for their safety.

CHICO, Calif. - A change in weather conditions is causing new concerns with fighting the Dixie Fire.
The light rainfall on Monday night did not have a huge impact on the fire as most of it dissipated before it hit the ground, but still helped in other ways for the fire fight. Obviously it is great for our fire personnel that are out on the line, said Captain Sergio Arellano from the San Jose Fire Department. Once the temperature is cooler they are able to gain more ground, and they are able to work a little easier because it is not as hot. It is not as taxing on the body.
