Scattered sprinkles were reported across the desert. At the outskirts of the valley, 0.31 inches was reported in Thermal and 0.28 inches fell in Whitewater, according to the National Weather Service.
By 2:30 p.m., 0.01 inches of rain was reported at Palm Springs International Airport.
Gusty winds reached 30 mph in Palm Springs and 40 mph in Palm Desert.
The South Coast Air Quality Management District has placed the Coachella Valley under a windblown dust advisory through Thursday night. Sensitive individuals should avoid rigorous activity and stay inside with all doors and windows closed, according to AQMD.
