An employee carrying multiple guns opened fire in a mass shooting at a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light rail facility in San Jose Wednesday morning, killing nine victims and injuring several others. The incident was connected to a separate house fire in the city at around the same time of the shooting, according to officials.

Authorities have identified the names of the 8 people tragically killed in a mass shooting at the VTA light rail yard in San Jose Wednesday morning. The victims range in age from 29 to 63, according to the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office. Our hearts are with all their families. For more details on the victims click here.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Stanford Blood Center is seeking donors with Type O blood. Donors can make an appointment online or walk in to one of SBC’s three locations in Menlo Park, Mountain View and Campbell. SAN JOSE, Calif. A mass shooting at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in San Jose left 9 people, including the gunman dead on Wednesday.
In a news release from the VTA, they confirmed the suspected shooter was a VTA employee. He was found dead near the Guadalupe Yard where the attack took place. The facility is a transit control center that stores trains and has a maintenance yard.
