An Attempted Robbery in the West
Three delivery men are fortunate they were not hurt during an attempted hold up on Monday afternoon in Santa Elena. Police say just before two p.m. they responded to reports of a robbery in progress at A and N Supermarket on the George Price Highway. Bowen and Bowen deliveryman Simeon Baptist reported that while making deliveries with two coworkers, they were approached by two men. One held a gun on them and the other jumped into the pick-up cab and tried to open the safe box. When they realized it could not open, the would-be robbers fled on a black scooter. Police later found the scooter crashed in a drain. No one has been detained.

CABORCA, Mexico, May 03, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Mexus Gold US (OTCQB: MXSG) (“Mexus” or the “Company) announced that on April 29th, the company performed a successful blast in the Quartz 2 vein area at its Santa Elena mine located near Caborca, MX. 150 meter strike length was charged in a 2.5 x 2.5 meter grid along four lines. Approximately 10,000 to 15,000 tons of mineralized material was produced. This material will have lime added to it and be hauled to the crushing area to continue with the heap leaching process. The company believes this material will show between 2 to 4 g/t Au average. Numerous samples are being processed as fire assays to confirm the gold and silver content of the new mineral being processed.

Quito, May 3 (Prensa Latina) The Emergency Operations Committee (COE) reported breaches during the weekend s curfew.
According to the partial report, there were crowds in nearly 600 places, 1,369 clandestine parties and 3,255 scandals in different locations, from 8:00 p.m. on last Friday until Sunday noon, local time.
The COE also reported 587 cases of domestic violence and 25,041 emergencies, as well as 3,992 people who ingested liquor.
Despite the data, the Committee indicated that there was a reduction in this type of incidents compared to the previous weekend, when the state of exception came into force in Azuay, Imbabura, Loja, Manabí, Santo Domingo, Guayas, Pichincha, Los Ríos, Esmeraldas, Santa Elena, Tungurahua, Carchi, Cotopaxi, Zamora Chinchipe, El Oro and Sucumbíos.
