Governor Whitmer Accelerates MI Vacc to Normal Plan to Move Michigan Forward Towards Normalcy
The MI Vacc to Normal Plan now features two steps to get the state back to normal by July 1
st
LANSING, Mich. - Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced an updated Vacc to Normal plan, which outlines steps Michiganders can take to emerge from this pandemic. As of June 1, capacity limits will lift for outdoor events. Additionally, indoor capacity limits will increase to 50%, allowing indoor social gatherings such as weddings and funerals to move closer to normalcy. As of July 1, the state will no longer limit capacity at indoor or outdoor gatherings.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has announced that the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has updated its Gatherings and Mask Order to align with the CDC's latest guidance. The new order will go into effect Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 9 a.m. EST.
The CDC said fully vaccinated people do not need to wear masks in most situations, but under Michigan's Vacc to Normal plan, the mask mandate wouldn't be lifted until 70% of people have at least one vaccine dose.
