A MAN has been charged after a suspicious package was sent to a covid-19 vaccine plant in Wrexham. The bomb disposal squad was sent to Wockhardt plant at Wrexham Industrial Estate earlier this week and the area was cordoned off. North Wales Police said Anthony Collins has been charged and is set to appear in court today. A spokesman said: “Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have charged a man after a suspicious package was sent to a Covid-19 vaccine production plant in Wrexham. The item, which was not a viable device, is reported to have been received at the facility, on the Wrexham Industrial Estate, on the morning of Wednesday 27 January 2021.

Anthony Collins, 53, was charged with “dispatching an article by post with the intention of inducing the belief it is likely to explode or ignite”, a spokesman for the force said. The motive behind the incident remains unclear.
