Two nonprofit organizations, seeking to begin construction in South Sandwich in the coming months, received the blessings of the Sandwich Zoning Board of Appeals this week.
Cape Cod BMX, which plans to build a motocross track off Quaker Meetinghouse Road, was unanimously granted a special permit to build and operate the course at the ZBAâs meeting on Tuesday, April 27.
âIâm excited for Cape Cod BMX and also for my home town of Sandwich,â said Tammy Gibbs, president and track manager for the nonprofit organization.
Ms. Gibbs said lighting for the track, which would have cost more than $70,000, has been donated by Legends Golf & Family Recreation, of Hooksett, New Hampshire.
SANDWICH A Brockton company is expected to open Sandwich s first medical marijuana dispensary by late spring.
“We are excited to open,” said David Noble, president and CEO of Brockton s In Good Health Inc., who has been working for four years to get permitting for the Sandwich project. “Very happy the town let us proceed with this.”
The medical marijuana dispensary is located at 449 Route 130, in three vacant office condos in a medical building. Construction on the facility is completed and the occupancy permit recently obtained from the town, with the provisional inspection and license from the Cannabis Control Commission the last step, Noble said.
