The Washington Wizards crushed the Cleveland Cavaliers one of the NBA’s doormats by 29 points last night.
Stomp wins can be more than a feel-good night where the starters get some rest and the scrubs get to frolic. Those big wins are a better signal of a team’s relative strength than its record in close games.
Now, the Wizards are just 5-8 in games decided by 20 points or more this season so don’t go too crazy. But they’re 3-1 in stomp games since they started their winning binge on April 7. True, those wins are beating up on the league’s weaklings Detroit Pistons, Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers. But, good teams pummel weaker opponents.
If it’s up.then it’s up! Why do you ask? It’s because the WIZARDS WON!!
The Washington Wizards defeated the defending champs, Los Angeles Lakers, 116-107 on national television. That’s right.if you have ESPN you saw the greatness that is of the Wizards in full swing. You even saw some major dunks because let’s be real everyone shows off on national television. We’ll even freeze frame one of them.
It was a back and forth type of game in the first quarter between both teams as the Lakers exposed Washington in the paint scoring endlessly over the Wizards’ big men. The Wizards tried their best to keep up knocking down mid-range jumpers to keep them in the game. Bradley Beal even put Anthony Davis on skates early on adjusting his shot from a potential driving shot to a mid-range fadeaway.

Forget the nine-point final margin. This one wasn’t that close. The Wizards took the lead in the second quarter, ran it as high as 19 in the third, and were never seriously threatened by the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers were missing Lebron James, and Anthony Davis was making just his third appearance after a 30-game absence due to a calf injury. Just as other teams romped on a COVID and injury-depleted Wizards team earlier in the season, Washington showed little mercy.
The driving force, as usual, was Russell Westbrook’s latest triple-double 18 points, 18 rebounds, 14 assists. His shooting wasn’t exceptional, but he got two steals and committed just 2 turnovers. That’s elite production.

• Throughout the Bulls extended rebuild, I’ve often found solace in the following: “At least the Knicks aren’t good.” With another major market team in the depths of despair, it at least felt like the Bulls weren’t alone. Also, considering how hard the Knicks have Knicks’ed over the years, it felt like the Bulls could at least claw their way back to relevancy before their franchise did. Yet, here we are. The Knicks are the East’s 4th-best team, and they just handed the Bulls a 113-94 loss to further crush Chicago’s postseason hopes. And to add insult to injury, the Knicks have three members of the iconic early 2010s Bulls, including head

The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night looking to close their road trip win back-to-back wins after a rough start.
Their effort level was low for most of the night though and the result was a 116-107 win for the Wizards.
The Lakers actually got off to a good start with Anthony Davis getting a couple of quick buckets as he continues to get closer and closer to his being back to his normal self.
Andre Drummond also imposed his will with eight points and four rebounds in the first quarter as it became clear early that the Lakers would have the size advantage.
