Popular Cleethorpes guest house set to change after 33 years
Plans have been submitted to turn it into a house of multiple occupancy instead

A highly-rated guest house in Cleethorpes could be turned into a hew house of multiple occupancy (HMO) under new plans submitted to North East Lincolnshire Council.
The Lindenthorpe Guest House is being proposed to be turned into a HMO which will increase the number of bedrooms from nine to 12.
The Lindenthorpe Guest House, at 19 Grant Street, has been a popular spot for tourists and those on working trips for 33 years since opening in September 1987.
So how are these organizations doing one year into this situation? The short answer is they are still at great risk. Released this month, the Unraveling report, produced by the Victoria Foundation in partnership with the Vancouver Foundation and Vantage Point, revealed the precarious position these organizations find themselves in. A survey taken by over 900 non-profits in our province tells us 48 per cent face closure should the pandemic continue and 20 per cent say they will likely have to shut down within a year if conditions don’t improve. That is a staggering figure. This during a time when 59 per cent report an increase in demand for services while 64 per cent report a decreased ability to deliver those services. Even if they survive, 71 per cent of organizations are expecting a budget shortfall this year.
“This allows everybody to safely support Our Place by taking a walk around their own neighbourhood,” said Julian Daly, executive director at Our Place. “This walk allows the community to come together and show how much they care about the most vulnerable members of society.” The walk in the cold gives people an opportunity to experience what so many people without homes endure every night, Daly said. “On the coldest nights, we try to get as many people indoors as possible. But, unfortunately, there are still people left outside. ” Participants can organize their own two to five-kilometre walks by themselves or form teams with members of their households or safe bubbles and collect pledges online.

As many teachers rise to the challenge of instructing their students virtually, the educators and researchers who contribute to the training of those teachers as part of the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program are investigating how best to prepare science and math teachers virtually. Noyce program participants are also rethinking how to come together as a community in service of their shared goals: supporting students and professionals in science, technology, engineering and mathematics as they become math and science teachers in K-12 clas
