The son of Democratic U.S. Senator Robert Menendez will be nominated to the board of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, one of the region’s most powerful agencies, a source close to the appointment confirmed Wednesday.
Robert Menendez Jr. of Jersey City is one of three new appointees to be announced soon, and was the product of negotiations that have been ongoing since Gov. Phil Murphy took office in 2018.

The HCDO has rolled out their endorsements for the June 8th primary, all of which were largely expected, with the possible exception being that Hudson County Register Diane Coleman won’t be seeking a second term and former Freeholder Jeff Dublin getting the nod to succeed her.
Former Freeholder Jeff Dublin is running for Hudson County register on the Democratic party line.
