Six new virus cases, four people recover

Article by Social Share Six people tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), out of the 583 tests performed by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Saturday. The Ministry of Health and Wellness said their ages range from 33 to 79, and they were all asymptomatic.  They came into the island between December 18 and 24, on the air carriers Jet Blue, American Airlines, and British Airways.  Five of them – two male visitors, two female visitors, and a Barbadian female – tested positive on their second tests. The sixth person, a 79-year-old female visitor, came into contact with a known case. Barbados has now recorded 362 cases – 194 females and 168 males.  Four people left the isolation facility yesterday, bringing the recoveries to 305.  The number in isolation has increased to 50.

Those testing positive are a 44-year-old male visitor, who arrived on Jet Blue on December 26; and a 26-year-old male visitor and a 52-year-old female visitor, who each came into contact with a known case. They are all asymptomatic. The number in isolation has increased to 53. No one was discharged from the Harrison Point Isolation Facility today, so recoveries remain at 305. Seven people have died. December 28, 2020 Barbados’ confirmed cases of COVID-19 moved to 365 – 195 females and 170 males, after three persons returned positive results from the 1060 tests completed by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Sunday. Those testing positive are a 44-year-old male visitor, who arrived on Jet Blue on December 26, and a 26-year-old male visitor and a 52-year-old female visitor, who each came into contact with a known case. They are all asymptomatic. The number in isolation has increased to 53. No one was discharged from the Harrison Point Isolation Facility today, so recoveries remain at 305. Two positive cases, two people recover

Article by Social Share Two visitors were the only positive cases among 816 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Wednesday. They are a 47-year-old woman, who arrived on American Airlines, and an 11-year-old child, who came in on British Airways. The two, who arrived on December 14, were asymptomatic, and tested positive on their second tests. Two people were released from isolation. As a result, 20 people remain at the Harrison Point isolation facility. Barbados has recorded 307 cases, comprising 161 females and 146 males. Additionally, 280 people have recovered from the viral illness. Seven people have died. COVID-19 Update: Two new cases; two recoveries

December 14, 2020 Two male visitors tested positive for COVID-19 out of the 702 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Saturday. The two men, aged 20 and 45, arrived on December 11, on British Airways and American Airlines, respectively. They were asymptomatic, and tested positive on their second tests. Additionally, two persons were released from isolation yesterday. As a result, there are 17 persons in isolation. Barbados has recorded 296 cases, comprising 154 females and 142 males. To date, 272 people have recovered. The laboratory has completed 54,434 tests since February.
