SHELTON No one was injured at a fire Friday at the Charter Arms facility on Brewster Lane, according to fire officials.
Deputy Fire Chief Paul Wilson, who commanded 16 volunteers on scene, said firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from Charter Arms, 18 Brewster Lane, about 8:30 a.m. In all, 17 department volunteers were on scene.
Wilson said crews observed a small fire in the facility’s shooting range. Firefighters used a 2 ½-gallon water fire extinguisher to suppress the small fire, Wilson said.

According to federal court records, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has been investigating John McDonough, 34, as part of an ongoing drugs and firearm probe. Officers secured a search warrant of his home on the 5600 block of Personality Court, south of Elmwood Avenue, on suspicion of drug trafficking.
In their April 7 search, IMPD’s SWAT officers uncovered a Smith & Wesson handgun, a Charter Arms revolver, Remington 12-gauge shotgun, Glock 17 pistol and about $31,000 in a locked safe in the house’s master bedroom, a criminal complaint said.
