After a very long journey, Jerry has gone home to our Lord. Born March 22, 1936, in Wahpeton, North Dakota.
Jerry grew up and attended schools in Casper, Wyoming, joined the USAF in 1954, where he flew missions as a flight engineer to Korea and Vietnam earning the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1969. Retiring from the 84th ATS at Travis AFB in 1974.
Jerry began employment at the Benicia Exxon Refinery, retiring after 20 years.
Jerry enjoyed motorcycling, the 49ers, walking, hiking, tennis, golf, snow and water skiing, traveling and reading.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; children, Mark, Kim (Jose), and Matt (Victoria); grandchildren, Tosh, Anthony, Olivia, Madison and Riley.

Local civic leader, businessman and retired Air Force Officer, George Ray Schoch, Jr. (Ray) died unexpectedly Dec. 26, 2020, in Fairfield, California.
Ray was born on Dec. 18, 1928, in Oil City, Pennsylvania. He joined the Air Force, becoming a B-47 Navigator/Bombardier, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel after a 28-year career.
He was stationed at numerous stateside bases including duty as a Navigation Instructor at Mather AFB, California. He was a Special Agent for the OSI. Ray served a tour in Korea and two tours in
Vietnam, where one of his assignments was Chief of Plans for the 7/13 Air Force in Thailand. Among many medals of his distinguished carrier was the Bronze Star.

Cost-benefit analysis on Mare Island cemetery gets green light
The action was triggered with the veto override of the National Defense Authorization Act.
Provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2021, which were authored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Rep. Mike Thompson, authorize Veterans Affairs to begin the study.
The department has six months to complete the analysis.

Future of Solano regional park less clear to start 2021
FAIRFIELD Solano County was, at the very least, moving forward on the concept of a regional park when the curtain rose on 2020.
Just two months earlier the Board of Supervisors had accepted the Initial Administrative and Financing Plan for the proposed Solano County Park and Open Space District, and a line of supporters was forming.
There were still a lot of questions, and some who believed it was not as high of a priority, but there was progress.
