Some of the changes include using deadly force only as a last resort.This comes roughly a month after city council members adopted recommendations that require a higher standard of deadly force, which come from a 55-page document created by the Sacramento Community Police Review Commission.The commission argued in May that the Sacramento Police Department s current policy does not already include language from Assembly Bill 392, a deadly use-of-force bill approved by Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2019.Tuesday s vote now signals that city officials are willing to include language from the commission that says police officers can only use deadly force as a last resort.
