Jane Berry has dreamed of opening a shop on 16 Church Street since she was a teenager - Credit: Abigail Nicholson Jane Berry, who lives in Beetley, opened her Dereham shop, Church Street Barbers, for the first time on Christmas Eve but was forced to lock up early as the government announced another national lockdown. The 52-year-old, who already has a shop in Norwich, was left devastated and frustrated when she had to wait for a further three and a half months to open her doors again.

Drug addict slashed friend s face with craft knife following row A DRUG addict slashed a perceived love rival across the face with a craft knife after getting in a fight. Jamie Scott had spent the day drinking and smoking crack cocaine with his friend before becoming enraged when he received a phone call from a woman they had both previously been in a relationship with. The 29-year-old initially attacked his victim with a dustpan and brush before grabbing the knife and slashing his face believing his ex-partner had been unfaithful with his friend. Teesside Crown Court heard how the fight calmed down and the pair walked to the woman’s house but the violence quickly restarted as they brawled in the street.

The toilet block will be knocked down to create extra parking spaces in the car park. Since the facilities were closed in 2008, Breckland taxpayers have paid almost £26,000 in non-domestic rates, but the council has insisted the move to demolish the building will reduce costs to the taxpayer .
