Saudi Arabia Approves Rs. 37.4 Billion Loan for Construction of Mohmand Hydropower Dam
Saudi Arabia has approved a funding of 901 million Saudi Riyal (Rs. 37.4 billion) for the construction of Mohmand Hydropower Dam, says the Economic Affairs Ministry.
According to an official statement issued by the Ministry, Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Said Al-Maliki met the federal minister for Economic Affairs Omar Ayub Khan here on Wednesday.
The Saudi Ambassador briefed the Minister of Economic Affairs on the recent successful visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia.
According to the Ministry, the Saudi envoy shared that funding of 901 million Saudi Riyal was approved for the construction of Mohmand Dam from the Saudi Development Fund. The funding is for 25 years and an interest rate of two percent will be charged on it, said the envoy of Saudi Arabia.

The Sindh government on Friday issued a clarification, withdrawing its earlier statement about the Saudi envoy s assurance regarding the addition of Chinese-manufactured vaccines to its list of approved shots for visitors to the Kingdom.
Earlier in the day, a statement issued by the Chief Minister House after a meeting of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah with a delegation led by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Malki had stated that the former had requested the Saudi government to include Chinese vaccines to its list of approved shots “to enable the maximum number of Pakistanis to perform Haj this year”.

The Saudi ambassador has assured Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah that the kingdom would add Chinese Covid-19 vaccines to its list of approved jabs.
The development comes after Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Malky along with Consul General Bandar Al Dayal met CM Murad in Karachi, an official statement issued by the CM House said on Friday.
