DUBAI, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia in 2019 jailed eight people for between seven and 20 years over the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018.
A declassified U.S. intelligence assessment released on Friday said Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman approved of the operation to capture or kill the dissident journalist.
The U.N. special rapporteur on extrajudicial executions, in a report issued in 2019, identified 11 people that were on trial, based on information from various governments sources.
