The All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate in the 2019 gubernatorial election in Enugu State, Barr. George Ogara, on Friday, said the party has resolved all differences among its stakeholders in the state.
Barr. Ogara, explained that the resolution to end all internal crises rocking the party was reached at its expanded stakeholders meeting which was attended by all the party’s gladiators at its Secretariat in Enugu last two weeks.
He disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Sunday Vanguard, adding that after the ongoing national revalidation/registration exercise, the party would have been adequately prepared for 2023 electoral contests in the state.

Well, it depends on who you ask!
There are claims that a rotation exists among the three Senatorial Zones – Enugu North, Enugu West, and Enugu East – for the Governorship slot which should be maintained. While some deny the existence of such rotation and that any capable person from any part of the state should be allowed to run.
What is clear, from historical analysis, and anecdotal interviews with several political players in the Coal City state, some kind of unofficial rotation is in existence, at least since the return to civilian democracy in 1999.
As with anything politics in our climes, there is no written Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) about this anywhere. But it has been in play, at least among the political godfathers of the state, especially in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at each given transition.

The on-going All Progressives Congress (APC) Membership Registration and Revalidation exercise has re-united all the warring groups in the Enugu State chapter of the party.
DAILY POST reports that since 2018, the party remained factionalized in the State, with the foreign affairs minister, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, backing one faction under the chairmanship of Deacon Okey Ogbodo.
But throughout the period, the National Working Committee of the APC recognized the Dr. Ben Nwoye-led leadership as the authentic structure of the party.
All the squallbles now appear to have been laid to rest as Onyeama, among other dissenting voices, stormed the APC secretariat in the State on Monday, where the registration panel met with stakeholders.
