Dr Yasmin Rashid announces reforms in blood transfusion services

LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid announced here Friday complete reinvigoration of the Blood Transfusion Authority and Institute of Blood Transfusion Services. The minister announced that the administrative control of the blood banks shall be handed over to designated authorities in the respective teaching hospitals.
The minister chaired an important meeting at the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department. Khurshid Shahid, RIP
Seasoned actress Begum Khurshid Shahid passed away in Lahore on June 27. She was 89. She began her showbiz career as a singer from All India Radio and later, after Partition, became an actress. Her remarkable performances in PTV plays such as Fahmida Ki Kahani Ustani Rahat Ki Zabani and films such as Chingari enabled her to be recognised as one of the formidable character actors of Pakistan. Bajrang leader held for damaging temple cooler donated by Muslim

Aligarh : , July 2 (IANS) A Bajrang Dal leader was arrested and later released for barging into a temple in Aligarh and allegedly destroying the foundation stone of a water cooler that was donated by a Muslim.
Deepak Rajput, was released on bail on Thursday evening amid protests by the right-wing outfit.
Several Bajrang Dal members had reached the Lodha police station where Rajput was being held and protested.
Lodha police station in-charge Gajraj Singh said that Rajput was arrested under section 151 of CrPC (arrest to prevent the commission of cognizable offences) and released on bail.
