Advertisement President Museveni’s young brother Godfrey Aine Kaguta alias Sodo has surprisingly withdrawn his candidature from the Mawogola North parliamentary seat race, just a few hours to the election. Gen Saleh walks away from hungry pro-NRM journalists in Gulu

January 9, 2021 Gen Salim Saleh addressing journalists in Gulu President Yoweri Museveni s brother Gen. Salim Saleh today Saturday walked away from youths claiming to be journalists under an umbrella body Entertainment News Reporters Association . The 28 youths comprising both of male and female, reportedly travelled from Kampala City on Friday evening to meet Saleh to demand payment for online content that they had purportedly published in favour and support for President Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party ahead of the 2021 general elections.  The journalists camped at Lumumba Square in the 4th Division army barracks in Gulu City as they waited to secure audience with Saleh who was holding a live relayed debate on the Capital FM s Capital Gang show. 

CECAFA U17: Rwanda Open Group A With Defeat Against Tanzania

The Rwandan U17 national football team opened their Group A play with a 1-3 defeat against Tanzania at UMuganda Stadium in Rubavu. It took Tanzania just 10 minutes to take the lead, when Kassimu Ibrahim Yahya took advantage the defenders’ failure to clear the ball and fire home for Tanzania’s first. Four minutes later, Tanzanina once again capitalised on defensive errors when Omar Abbas Mvungi burts into the idle defenders and fired into the net. In the 18th minute, Yves Rwasamanzi’s boys finaly responded with a brilliant counter-attack as Salim Saleh sent a perfect ball across to Eric Irihamye on the right, who in turn provided the perfect cross for Saleh who fired a shot which deflected off the defender’s arm and the referee instantly pointed to the spot.
