Apple Music is also featuring a ton of music from female artists under its International Women s Day feature. The collection features highlights of specific artists, women-led playlists, as well as a collection of music videos. Some stations on Apple Music Radio are also playing female artists for the day. Since it’s  International Women’s Month, I’m celebrating this week with interviews I’ve had the pleasure of having with outstanding women. Today, it’s a 2015 interview with Maddy Macnab about  Passages Canada, a program to bring stories of cultural identity from everyday Canadians to the forefront. And in 2017 I caught up with  Jesse Brown to ask her about her latest album (Keeping Appearances) and talk about making a video. We also hear two songs from that album:  Deep Down Below and  Reminder: City now accepting Unsung Hero Community Awards nominations for 2021! These awards are meant to acknowledge those individuals who go above and beyond to help build and shape their community and who help bolster the work of social groups and organizations that offer recreational, cultural, or charitable services to the community.
