Retired Weymouth cop seeks Council seat

Retired Weymouth Police Officer Edward Hancock said he wants to continue his lifelong commitment to public service by getting elected to the District 6 Town Council seat on Nov. 2.
“After serving the town for over 23 years, I want to see some changes in the district, he said.
Hancock retired from the police department in March 2020; his duties included 16 years of service as a K-9 officer.
The National Association of Police Organizations awarded Hancock an honorable “Top Cop” honorable mention in March 2008 for his arrest of 20-year-old Ryan Bois in connection with the murder of his cousin, Joanna Mullins, in August 2007.

Unions Say Wardman Hotel Can t Ditch Contracts In Sale
Law360 (July 8, 2021, 7:10 PM EDT) A pair of unions Thursday asked a Delaware bankruptcy judge to reject a request to sell Washington s Wardman Hotel free and clear of union contracts, saying the hotel s owner is bound by multiple agreements to require a buyer to assume the contracts.
In their motion UNITE HERE Local 25 and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 99 said the Wardman is required to pass on its employees collective bargaining agreements to any future buyer both by the contracts themselves and a separate agreement recently affirmed by an independent arbiter.
