Youngsville residents celebrate Mardi Gras with neighborhood parade and last updated 2021-02-13 23:13:10-05 Since most Mardi Gras parades are canceled this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a few Youngsville residents decided to celebrate their own way. Brandi Landry, along with some of her neighbors, helped organize a homemade parade on Saturday. Trailers, golf carts, bikes, and pedestrians participated in the parade, which wound through Sugar Ridge subdivision. Kids and adults alike enjoyed the celebration, which organizers called a special event for the neighborhood. Means a lot to us, especially in our neighborhood, explained Carey Leblanc. It s growing, there is a lot of people outside of the area so even for those outsiders to see our culture, it means a lot. Even if there is two floats we will be happy.

DVIDS - News - Northwestern Water & Sewer District Receives Section 594 Assistance from USACE for the Sugar Ridge/Mercer Road Sanitary Sewer Project

12 Buffalo, NY The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, entered into an agreement in December 2020 with the Northwestern Water & Sewer District to provide almost $1 Million assistance toward the total costs of sanitary sewer upgrades in the Sugar Ridge/Mercer Road area of Wood County in northwest Ohio. The new wastewater collection system will protect surface water quality and address unsanitary conditions attributed to aging residential septic systems. The project will consist of installing low pressure sewer grinder pumps and 4-inch, 3-inch, 2-inch, and 1.5-inch force main pipe with air release valves along Sugar Ridge Road, Mercer Road, Long Street and Gregory Street in the Sugar Ridge/Mercer Road area of Center and Middleton Townships, Wood County, Ohio.

BRAGSA road programme ongoing Photos Credit: BRAGSA  BRAGSA’s - Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority – road construction and repair programme continued with two projects. The first was the repair of 228 feet of road in Backpiece, Troumaca, in the North Leeward constituency.   Additionally, BRAGSA undertook and completed the construction of an accompanying 212-foot long Slipper Drain. This five-week project cost EC$42,000. Staying on the Leeward side of mainland St. Vincent, BRAGSA moved south into Vermont, in the South Leeward constituency, where it completed the construction of a new 253-foot long concrete road, along with a 250-foot long Box drain, in Sugar Ridge.
