Harbor Freight Tools, the largest discount tool and equipment retailer, opened its fifth Northern Virginia location in Warrenton.
The new Harbor Freight location is at Kalis Development’s Warrenton Towne Center at 613 Frost Ave., at U.S. Route 211 and U.S. Route 17. The nearly 15,000-square-foot store replaces a former Gold’s Gym.
It opened Jan. 26.
Warrenton Towne Center includes 16 retailers and businesses, including a recently renovated Food Lion grocery store.
Family-owned Harbor Freight, headquartered in Calabasas, California, has more than 1,100 locations and more than 20,000 employees in the U.S. It was founded in 1977. It carries everything from hand tools and generators, to air and power tools, shop equipment and automotive tools.

MILL HALL Keystone Central School District’s Career and Technology Construction Trades program is excited to be one of the recipients of a generous donation of tool boxes from the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools program. The district received 50 tool kits worth approximately $50 each.
The kits include a tool bag, assorted hand tools, measurement tools, and/or safety gear. “These kits provide students with tools to complete program of study tasks in the construction trades class. It is important to have hand tools for students to complete tasks aligned to industry standards,” Kurt Lynch, director of the Keystone Central Career & Technology program, said.

Buzz about the discount tool retailer Harbor Freight Tools coming to Midland has circulated online in Facebook groups such as Ask Midland.
While the company has not confirmed a new Midland store, here’s what we do know.
In October, Harbor Freight Tools inquired about a property with the City of Midland. A city planning department official confirmed that the California-based company had asked, via email, whether 701 Joe Mann Boulevard was within city limits, which it is. The email stated they anticipated opening a new store at that location, which Planet Fitness moved out of just last week.

After months of work and planning, La Cuna Tequila Bar will make its debut on Calder Avenue this weekend.
The new establishment that is taking a loving and traditional approach to tequila has set an opening date for Saturday.
Staff will welcome guests for crafted drinks and food from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the day after Christmas.
La Cuna is roughly a 36-seat bar but will have less seating available because of COVID-19 restrictions.
