“The bags may be kept by the purchaser or donated to the Friends of Hudson’s Hope Food Bank,” says Budgell. “Once the Hudson’s Hope Food Bank’s shelves are full, the remaining food can be donated to kickstart the Pet Pantry Program.”
More information about the Pet Pantry program is coming soon, but it will give families in the North Peace Region a little help keeping pets healthy at home.
So far, the 52 bags sold amounts to $260 for the Hudson’s Hope animals.
“If there are any businesses or individuals that would like to donate or participate in selling the bags, please email us or visit our Facebook page.”
Thanks to the anonymous gift, NPFFS has created Project Holding Onto Hope, which will sell five-pound bags of cat food for a minimum of five dollar donations to the rescue organization.
“We will be delivering bags to the community for sale and distribution on Thursday, May 13th, using the Driving Force Give’r Truck.”
Budgell says all funds raised will go towards the Hudson’s Hope Fund, which will help pay for medical costs for future animal surrenders.
