MONTAGUE COUNTY, Texas (TNN) - Firefighters in Montague County are working to contain a grass fire near Indian School Road.

Grass fire on Smelter Road is now 100% contained

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Crews were mopping up hotspots after a fire on Smelter Road this afternoon, according to Texas A&M Forest Service, it is now 100 percent contained.
At 1:59 p.m., AFD was dispatched to the area on a reported grass fire.
The Amarillo Fire Department had 11 fire units on scene with Potter County fire crews and Texas Forest Service who responded to the first on Smelter Road, south of Hastings.
Woman hospitalized with major injuries after vehicle, motorcycle crash on Highway 101 near Buellton

UPDATE (2:21 p.m.) â A woman involved in the motorcycle and vehicle crash on Highway 101 northbound in Buellton is hospitalized with critical injuries, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Department Captain Daniel Bertucelli.
Officials said two engines, one battalion chief and an ambulance responded to reports of a crash near Jonata Park Road after 12 p.m.
When crews arrived, they found a motorcyclist lying on the road with major injuries, according to Bertucelli. It is unclear what happened to the driver of the passenger vehicle.

Just before 1 p.m., a vehicle was seen on its roof against a culvert over a steep embankment near mile marker 32 on State Route 299 about 5 miles west of Willow Creek. Emergency personnel requested rappelling gear and an air ambulance, but REACH 18 declined due to weather. At 1:27 p.m., emergency personnel reported that the occupant was deceased. The Coroner’s Office was requested, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page. Dispatchers sent Salyer Fire and Blue Lake Fire to the incident.
