ShoutOUT Labs represents Sri Lanka at Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards February, 17, 2021 ShoutOUT Labs was selected recently to represent the country at the APICTA Awards in Malaysia and was vying with contestants from 17 countries. The selection comes on the back of ShoutOUT.AI, one of the pillars of ShoutOUT Labs, receiving the Silver award for Marketing Solutions in the Business Services Category at the NBQSA competition – a remarkable achievement given that the solution was developed just 10 months ago. The award ceremony of this annual event organized by BCS Sri Lanka was held on the 3rd of April at the BMICH.

Index-heavy companies share prices down – The Island

By Hiran H.Senewiratne  CSE market activities were negative yesterday with the index heavy LOLC share prices plummeting by 18 percent. The reason  being that investors were slightly taken aback at LOLC quarterly results which did not prove exceptionally good. As a result, 87 negative points were contributed to the All Share Price Index yesterday, stock market analysts said. Apart from LOLC, several index heavy companies’ share prices went down, including Vallibal One, whose shares dropped by 10 percent and it contributed 20 negative points. Browns Investments reported a 9 percent drop and it contributed 20 negative points, Expolanka witnessed a five percent drop, contributing 17 negative points.

Sampath Bank report slight decline in profits for 2020

Financial Performance for the Year 2020 Sampath Bank recorded a decline in Profit After Tax (PAT), from Rs 11.1 Bn in 2019 to Rs 8 Bn for the year 2020. Despite this being a 28% decline, it is nonetheless a noteworthy result against the backdrop of the COVID-19 induced economic slowdown locally and globally. Meanwhile, the Bank registered a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs 11.2 Bn compared to Rs 15.5 Bn recorded in 2019, a decline of 27.9%. The PBT and PAT of the Group for the year ended 31 st December 2020 stood at Rs 11.9 Bn and Rs 8.4 Bn respectively, denoting a decline of 27.2% and 27.6% respectively. Fund Based Income (FBI)
