He asked the beneficiaries that Kitchen Garden / backyard vegetable cultivation is trending and it not only provides an opportunity to produce fresh vegetable for house hold consumption but also gives an idea to train our children in agriculture activities which in some of the developed countries of the world is an important part of school curriculum.
He said the Department is making sure that not only the seedling of traditional vegetable crops but the exotic vegetable seedling should also be kept available for the farmers at all the levels.
Earlier, the Director asked the concerned staff and beneficiaries to follow Covid protocol in letter and spirit so that any kind of virus transmission could be prevented.
THE Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has announced it will be opening its new gardens at Worsely in Salford on Tuesday, May 18 following a year long delay due to coronavirus. Tickets for the highly anticipated opening weeks will go on sale to the public on April 19 2021 on the RHS website. The 154-acre garden has been the biggest horticultural project undertaken in Europe since planning permission was granted in 2017. Around 7.8m people living within an hour’s journey time of the garden will be able to access world-class horticultural inspiration and expertise at the first ever RHS Garden to be located in an urban area.

The country’s fifth Royal Horticultural Society garden, spanning 154 acres in Salford, is due to open on 18 May following construction delays due to Covid-19.
Tickets are to go on sale from 19 April, the RHS announced today. The £35m garden had been due to open on 30 July 2020 but pandemic-related issues forced the project team to revise the construction timescale last year.

Design and engineering firm Arcadis is managing the project on behalf of the RHS, while Bam Construction has been delivering the garden’s welcome building. It is cited as the biggest horticultural project undertaken in Europe since planning permission was granted in 2017, and also marks the first new RHS garden in 17 years and the first ever in an urban location.
