Seven Israeli hospitals will close their doors to nonessential treatments in one week if the government does not find a way to forge a budgetary agreement that will enable them to operate.
Hadassah Medical Center and Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem; Laniado Hospital in Netanya, the seaside city north of Tel Aviv; Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak, just east of Tel Aviv; and, in the Galilee, Holy Family Hospital, Saint Vincent De Paul French Hospital and Nazareth Hospital EMMS, will all pare down their activities to only emergency and essential health care next week.
Canton native Kimberlé W. Crenshaw was presented a Ruth Bader Ginsburg Award for Lifetime Achievement.
The honor came last week from the American Association of Law Schools Section on Women in Legal Education. It was presented during the group s annual meeting this year s theme was The Power of Words.
Ginsburg was a U.S. Supreme Court justice from 1993 until her death last year at age 87.
The award is given annually to someone whose career has spanned at least 20 years. The recipient should be someone who has impacted women, the legal community, the academy, and the issues that affect women through mentoring, writing, speaking, activism, and by providing opportunities to others, according to qualifications for the honor.
