I know that sounds redundant, but it isn’t really, because when it comes to community, “health” has two completely different but equally vital meanings. The West Marin Fund, now celebrating its 10th year of life, understands that duality as well as or better than any private or community foundation in the world. My evidence? The astounding number of thriving and well-run nonprofit organizations in our watershed that are encouraged and supported financially by the fund, whose staff, directors and active advisors are fiercely intent on keeping them and the communities they serve in good health.
